Development has escalated in the vicinity. Following the completion of the Somerset Mall, a similar facility is being built nearby, and a complex of town and cluster housing. Construction continues on new gated villages and the Strand’s beachfront has been progressively lined with high rise apartments. Gordon’s Bay remains a tourist attraction without generating the same rate of growth.
For Erinvale it has been more a period of maturity, of widening local knowledge and exploring attractions over the hills like picturesque university town Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek restaurant capital of the country. A breath-taking one hour coastal drive leads to Hermanus, for unrivalled whale watching.
It’s a great neighbourhood.
